奥克兰大学
1958年奥克兰学院更名为奥克兰大学（The University of Auckland）。1882年，新西兰议会通过建立奥克兰学院的法案，这是有关奥克兰大学前身建立的法律文件。翌年5月21日举行开学典礼，宣布该校向一切人、一切阶层的男女开放，是一个完全民主的机构。当时有经典文学与英语、数学、自然科学、化学与物理等四个教授讲座。
